TICIL operates as a Division of KCT. The business is managed between head office (Kolkata), Central Office (Delhi) and its project offices.

TICIL is managed by professionally qualified directors and employees.

Mr. A. Saran
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr. Adarsh Saran is the Chief Executive Officer of TICIL Division & a Senior Vice President at KCT. After reading Maths Honours at St. Stephens College, India, he secured an Honours in Civil & Structural Engineering from Loughborough University, UK.

After graduation in 1960, he joined Duncan Brothers Co. Ltd. as a covenanted officer, overseeing the engineering design and support for its tea estates and its manufacturing facilities, in East India.

In 1964, he joined the Thapar Group, first as the General Manager for Jagatjit Cotton Textiles Mills Ltd. then in 1971, as Head of Branches Department for KCT and later concurrently as Director of the joint venture with Intrafor Cofor. During his tenure at KCT, he oversaw several major HEP contracts including: Kalinadi HEP, 810 MW and Tehri HEP, 1000 MW.

In 1980, he took over as CEO of James Greaves & Co. Ltd, UK, (a wholly owned subsidiary of Greaves Cotton & Co. Ltd), responsible for all Thapar Group initiatives and joint ventures outside of India.

In 1996, he returned to KCT, as Senior Vice President of the now merged TICIL, responsible for executing several major HEP contracts:

  • Salal HEP, 345 MW, NHPC;
  • Pykara HEP, 150 MW, TNEB; and
  • Tehri HPP Projects, 1000 MW, THDC.

He is currently managing the execution of the prestigious 1.5MT strategic underground oil storage cavern at Mangalore in Joint Venture with SK Engineering & Construction Company of Korea for ISPRL.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers of India and a member of the Institute of Directors London. His interests include photography, performing and visual arts and ornithology.

Mr. R.N. Mukherjee
Chief Operating
Officer (COO)
Mr. R. N. Mukherjee is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TICIL Division at KCT. He graduated from B.I.T., Mesra, with a BSc. Engineering (Civil) in 1970.

In 1971, he began his career with H.S.C.L., a Government of India Undertaking, under the Ministry of Steel, where he served for more than 10 years. During his tenure, he specialised in the construction of RCC Chimneys, RCC Silos and other associated structures for coke-oven plants and achieved the status of Divisional Engineer.

In 1981, he joined N.P.C.C. Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, where he served for 15 years as Additional General Manager. During his tenure, he managed various projects including: the Sectoral Housing at FSTPP, the DVC at Bokaro and Durgapur, the Metro Railway at Kolkata and a Coal Handling Plant. He was directly responsible for the successful construction and commissioning of the Mejia Thermal Power Station for Damodar Valley Corporation (3x 200 MW capacity) as well as its Power House and ancillary structures and three Hydel Power Projects in North Bengal for the West Bengal State Electricity Board. Further, between 1990 and 1993, Mr. Mukherjee assumed responsibility for the Marketing Division, where he successfully marketed various projects.

In 1996, he joined IRCON International Limited as Additional General Manager. Hw went on to become a General Manager and finally an Executive Director, at their Corporate Office in New Delhi. During his tenure he contributed to the successful execution of projects for the Railways, airports, roads and steel plants.

After his retirement from the board of IRCON, he joined KCT as Vice President Marketing at its Central Office in September 2007.

He is a Member of Indian Council of Arbitration, Delhi, and a Member of Geo-technical Study Circle, Kolkata.
